Life Skills Program

Becoming MADE is a 10-phase program that lasts between 12 and 14 weeks. Once an individual completes the program, we work with him/her to identify appropriate services and next steps toward reaching life goals.

 

The Life Skills sessions are held twice a week for 90 minutes equaling 36 hours of engagement.

  1. Week 1: Introductions/Biography; Career Assessment/Review Results; Email Netiquette
  2. Week 2: Resume overview workshop
  3. Week 3: Cover letter workshop
  4. Week 4: Reviewing job descriptions
  5. Week 5: Online resources – job search engines, LinkedIn, application tracking; sample job applications.
  6. Week 6: 21st Century Activity
  7. Week 7: Career Research Presentation
  8. Week 8: Job Shadow Project
  9. Week 9: Setting Goals/Find Job Shadow Contact
  10. Week 10: Thank You Letters
  11. Week 11: Interviewing; Interview Prepping
  12. Week 12: Etiquette Dinner
