MADE Institute in Flint begins a Residential Carpenter Specialist Registered Apprenticeship Program

Flint, MI – Made Institute, a leading vocational training institution in Flint, Michigan, is excited to announce the launch of its Residential Carpenter Specialist Registered Apprenticeship Program in partnership with GST Michigan Works! This program is designed to provide individuals with the skills and knowledge necessary to pursue a successful career in the carpentry industry.

The Residential Carpenter Specialist Registered Apprenticeship Program is a comprehensive training program that combines classroom instruction with hands-on experience. Apprentices will learn the fundamental principles of carpentry, including blueprint reading, framing, finishing, and safety procedures. In addition, they will be able to work alongside experienced carpenters on real-world projects, gaining valuable on-the-job training.

“We are thrilled to offer this apprenticeship program to individuals who are looking to start a rewarding career in the carpentry industry,” said Leon El-Alamin, Founder & Executive Director of the MADE Institute. “Our goal is to provide apprentices with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the field, and we are confident that this program will help them achieve their career goals.”

The Residential Carpenter Specialist Registered Apprenticeship Program is open to individuals of all skill levels, from beginners to experienced carpenters looking to enhance their skills. Apprentices will be required to complete 309 hours of classroom instruction taught by Kettering University and Penn Foster and between 3900-6000 hours of on-the-job training over the next two years. Upon successful completion of the program, apprentices will receive a nationally recognized credential from the United States Department of Labor, Office of Apprenticeship as a Residential Carpenter Specialist.

“We believe that this program will benefit not only the apprentices who participate but also the broader community,” said El-Alamin. “By helping individuals to develop their skills and pursue a career in the carpentry industry, we are helping to strengthen our local workforce and economy.”
