John Fleming was innocent when Michigan police confronted him on a city bus three years ago, wrongly accusing him of stealing from Walmart. Although the 30-year-old Black man repeatedly told officers he had receipts to prove his purchases, they kneed and punched him before forcefully removing him from the bus.
