Nearly ten years after Flint’s water crisis drew nationwide scrutiny, the city is still confronting the lasting consequences of one of the most severe environmental failures in modern U.S. history.

Although upgrades to infrastructure have occurred, the long-term health effects, emotional toll, and social impacts continue to shape daily life for this predominantly African American community of roughly 81,000 people.
