The MADE Institute received a $200,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Southeast Michigan in conjunction with the St. Luke N.E.W. Life Center. Both organizations have already started to put the grant to use by hosting a job orientation.
The funding for St. Luke’s will cover the costs for on-the-job training for lawn care, making pallets and sewing.
The funding we will receive will go towards our EPIK training where local contractors provide on-the-job paid training in areas like plumbing, electrical work and carpentry. In total, we hope to have 10 to 15 people go through the training.
