Life Skills Program
Becoming MADE is a 10-phase program that lasts between 12 and 14 weeks. Once an individual completes the program, we work with him/her to identify appropriate services and next steps toward reaching life goals.
The Life Skills sessions are held twice a week for 90 minutes equaling 36 hours of engagement.
Week 1: Introductions/Biography; Career Assessment/Review Results; Email Netiquette
Week 2: Resume overview workshop
Week 3: Cover letter workshop
Week 4: Reviewing job descriptions
Week 5: Online resources – job search engines, LinkedIn, application tracking; sample job applications.
Week 6: 21st Century Activity
Week 7: Career Research Presentation
Week 8: Job Shadow Project
Week 9: Setting Goals/Find Job Shadow Contact
Week 10: Thank You Letters
Week 11: Interviewing; Interview Prepping
Week 12: Etiquette Dinner
